How To Shine Tires Without Tire Shine

Last Updated on August 22, 2021 by Stephen Tillman

So, you’ve washed your car with your new pressure washer, dried it out with a microfiber towel and everything looks great, but there is one thing left over which doesn’t look great – the tires.

Shining your tires is one of the most important things you should do after you wash your car, however, doing it without a tire shine can be a bit tricky. Today, i am going to prove you wrong and hsow you how to shine tires without tire shine. Let’s get started.

Things You Need

  • 1 Kilograms Of Sugar
  • Water
  • A Brush or Towel

How To Do It

  • Step 1 – Get a bag of sugar from your kitchen and pour it into water.
  • Step 2 – Stir it around and let it sit for at least 30 minutes. You can let it sit outside or in the freezer. The freezer way will make the sugary-water more dense, but you will have to wait another 30 minutes for it to get unfrozen before you can apply it to the tires.
  • Step 3 – After you’ve waited, grab a brush or a towel, and dip it into the water with the sugar.
  • Step 4 – Carefully rub the towel or the brush to the tires until you get the desired look.

It’s that simple! This method is actually better than using an actual tire shine, because this is more budget-friendly and can be made at home without too many ingredients.

After you’re done, you can either rinse the tires with water, or let it sit for around 30 minutes before going out for a drive. Either will do.

Personally, i prefer rinsing the tires with water, because the sugar on the tires usually attracts a lot of bees and other insects which can damage your tires.

This is a great and safe way to shine your tires without having to buy any tools. I hope you liked this guide, and if you need any additional help please feel free to contact me through the contact form!
